I’m a very lucky wife to a husband who cheers on every one of my wild ideas (and pretends to be surprised when they go wrong). I’m also the unpaid CEO of a small startup—featuring two kids, a furry intern, a 24/7 cleaning service, a personal Uber, a short-order cook, and a chaos coordinator. And if that isn’t enough, I’ve got a whole list of other jobs I do for zero salary and zero PTO! I'm filled and fueled by my family, friendships, lattes, sarcasm, toxic positivity (look it up), dance moves from the 80s and 90s and a little humor.
My goal is to share some humor with you about my experiences as a Parent volunteer, mom, wife and friend. I'll also drop in some wisdom I've learned from other amazing moms in my life. This idea stands for breaking stereotypes—dispelling the myth that a “good parent” must always have everything under control or be endlessly involved in every school activity. There are many ways to be an amazing parent, and sometimes that means saying “no” to the PTA and “yes” to what brings you joy. Whether that’s binge-watching your favorite shows, sneaking away for a girls’ night out, or putting on a sheet mask and locking yourself in the bathroom after a long day. PTA Dropout is dedicated to celebrate those moments of freedom and authenticity. Even though we call ourselves PTA Dropouts, all are welcome, those still in it, those who donate money and those who are stretched enough with time and money to say no thanks, we celebrate you all!
